Susan D. Rich

Susan D. Rich, MD, MPH, DFAPA is a board certified child/adolescent and adult psychiatrist specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Neurodevelopmental Disorder associated with Prenatal Alcohol Exposure. A passionate change agent, Dr. Rich is an international speaker and thought leader, working since 1993 to raise awareness among medical professionals, policy makers, and community leaders about this little understood, prevalent, preventable condition. For more than two decades, she has developed programs – ranging from a 24-unit transitional housing community for women in recovery and their children, Grace Court in Lumberton, NC to a blog – www.bettersafethansorryproject.com, promoting contraception for sexually active alcohol consumers.

Her private practice, Therapeutic and Learning Centers, is located at Dream Catcher Farm – a therapeutic farm animal sanctuary in Potomac, MD.  She blends comprehensive neurodevelopmental diagnosis with cutting edge diagnostics while working with children, adolescents and young adults using agrotherapy, farm animals, and nature.
